Since launching her business in 2011, she has operated as a full-time entrepreneur, building a strong and loyal client base while delivering high-level experiences across multiple markets. A graduate of Virginia State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Shanel began her career while still in college, quickly securing opportunities with high-profile brands within her first year. While balancing the demands of building her business, she maintained strong academic performance and graduated with high honors, earning Magna Cum Laude distinction. Her ability to apply her education in real time laid the foundation for a career defined by both creativity and strategic execution. Throughout her career, Shanel has performed alongside and opened for notable talent including David Banner, CeCe Peniston, and Amanda Seales, among others. Her client portfolio also includes leading brands such as Sephora, Sol de Janeiro, Drybar, Marshalls, Macy’s, DTLR, Lululemon, Bumble, Sprint Wireless, the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and much more. Also several of her mixes have been featured on a iHeart Radio station. All of these partnerships have been developed through direct relationships and referrals, reflecting both her reputation and the trust she has built within the entertainment industry. In addition to Deejaying, Shanel is also an actress and model. She has been featured on the cover of Richmond Magazine, appeared in multiple commercials, and was featured in a film alongside Javicia Leslie, lead actress in ‘Batwoman’, further highlighting her versatility across entertainment platforms. The foundation of her brand, ‘Ready to Serve’, is rooted in a lifelong commitment to community impact. Inspired by her early experiences volunteering alongside her mother, a social worker with the YWCA, Shanel developed a heart for service at a young age. She carried that passion into leadership roles, including serving as a Youth Director in Virginia, where she led outreach initiatives, coordinated volunteer efforts, and developed fundraising strategies to expand access for youth interested in participating in mission trips across the country. She has also taken initiative to lead independent service efforts, including organizing and executing a hands-on community outreach project in Richmond, Virginia. Partnering with a local bakery, Shanel recruited volunteers, worked directly in the kitchen to prepare fresh meals, and led a team through the city to distribute food to individuals experiencing homelessness. Beyond providing meals, she and her team spent time engaging with members of the community, listening to their stories and gaining a deeper understanding of their needs. This experience further affirmed her commitment to service and leadership in action. Today, that same spirit of service remains central to her work.
